Job Title: Experienced Civil Engineering Site Engineer

Location: Owerri, Imo
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Our client is seeking a hands-on Site Engineer to drive the day-to-day execution of civil construction projects on SITE.
  • You’ll be the technical backbone on-site, ensuring quality, safety, timelines, and cost targets are met while coordinating workers, contractors, and suppliers to deliver excellence.

Key Responsibilities
On-Site Execution:

  • Supervise and manage daily construction activities to ensure adherence to designs and specifications.
  • Conduct site surveys, setting out, and levelling for structural accuracy.

Operational Oversight:

  • Monitor labor, materials, and equipment use to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify on-site issues early and implement practical engineering solutions.

Quality & Safety:

  • Enforce QA/QC standards and ensure compliance with local building codes.
  • Champion site safety protocols and ensure zero-incident operations.

Coordination & Reporting:

  • Liaise with architects, subcontractors, and suppliers for seamless workflow.
  • Provide accurate daily and weekly site progress reports to management.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2 – 4 years’ proven experience as a Site Engineer in civil/building construction (residential/commercial/industrial).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Compulsory) and MS Project (or similar).
  • Membership/certification in NSE/COREN (or in progress).

Nice-to-Have:

  • Familiarity with structural design and estimation software.
  • Experience with concrete works, road works, or prefabricated structures.
