Job Title: Station General Manager

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • Our client is seeking to hire an experienced and dynamic Station’s General Manager to oversee and manage the overall operations of the station.
  • The ideal role holder will be responsible for driving business growth, ensuring operational efficiency, leading teams, and maintaining high service and performance standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop processes and procedures to guide delivery of the station’s products/services, ensuring they are nothing short of excellence
  • Design workflow and responsibilities of various units
  • Recruiting, training and overall talent management processes
  • Providing adequate supervision and creating enabling environment for all units to perform optimally.
  • Build and maintain a profitable business basket by working with other Heads of Units/Independent Content Producers to deploy appropriate resources to attain a maximum profitability return on all transactions.
  • Work closely with sales managers and advertising sales staff so as to adequately supervise and monitor the growth path for the wallet share of the station.
  • Work closely with Accounts department to optimize running costs and ensure that all receivables are brought in promptly. Minimize cash flow issues to the barest scale by appropriate billings and following up on clients for prompt payment.
  • Ensure program and technical employees comply with all local, state, and federal broadcasting regulations and other laws
  • Budget for projects and negotiations, ensuring correct billing and timely preparation of Invoices and vouchers, making sure they are checked thoroughly and accurate. Budgeting should be done with the respective account manager.

Person Specification

  • Minimum of 7 progressive experience in operations, business management, or station management.
  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in any Social Sciences, Communication Studies, Statistics or related field from any recognized Institution. Advanced degree and relevant certifications will be added advantage.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, complemented by diplomacy.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and manage performance
  • Strong knowledge of current and developing trends in radio
