We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head of Accounts and Finance

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Purpose

  • The Head of Accounts and Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial health of the organization.
  • This role manages financial planning, reporting, compliance, risk management, and cash flow to support strategic decision-making and sustainable growth.
  • The position also ensures strong internal controls, adherence to accounting standards, and effective leadership of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to senior management.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and treasury.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and monitor financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Lead annual budget preparation, monitor variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Manage audits (internal and external) and ensure regulatory and tax compliance.
  • Evaluate financial risks, opportunities, and long-term obligations; propose strategies for growth and cost optimization.
  • Supervise and mentor finance and accounts staff, ensuring capacity building and professional development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insights to support business expansion, investments, and funding decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, systems, and reporting standards.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CFA is required.
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, with at least 2–4 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, tax regulations, corporate finance, and financial planning.
  • Proven track record in financial strategy, risk management, and business advisory.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
