Job Title: News Editor
Location: Umuahia, Abia
Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and dynamic News Editor to lead our newsroom operations in Umuahia.
- The ideal candidate will have strong editorial judgment, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering accurate and engaging news content across all platforms.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily newsroom activities and manage a team of reporters.
- Assign, edit, and approve news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Ensure accuracy, balance, and compliance with editorial standards.
- Monitor breaking news and provide direction for timely coverage.
- Mentor and guide reporters to improve storytelling quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ newsroom experience, with at least 2 years in an editorial role.
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Excellent news judgment and knowledge of current affairs.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
