Job Description

The National Universities Commission was established in 1962 as an advisory agency in the Cabinet Office. However, in 1974, it became a statutory body and the first Executive Secretary, in the person of Prof. Jibril Aminu, was appointed.

The National Universities Commission (NUC) is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Education (FME). The Commission has a Governing Council; itsExecutive Secretary is Prof. Yusufu Abdullahi Ribadu FCVSN, who assumed the duty of overseeing the activities of the Commission in December 2024.

The National Universities Commission (NUC), Nigeria’s apex regulatory agency for university education, invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below at its headquarters in Abuja:

Job Title: Motor Driver / Mechanic

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Cadre: Clerical and Auxiliary Staff

Job Description

  • Driving assigned vehicles with care and caution, Maintaining records of fuel and lubrication consumption of the vehicle.

Requirements

  • Applicants must possess at least an ‘O’ Level Certificate or its equivalent, Class II/III Trade Test Certificate for Motor Mechanic Work, plus a valid Class ‘C’ Driving license.
  • Cognate experience shall be an advantage.
  • Application is open to all eligible Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 to 50 and are required to possess appropriate qualifications, competencies, skills, and orientation.

Salary Grade
CONTISS 4 or CONTISS 3.
