Job Title: Driver / Chauffeur

Location: Lagos Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Operations / Logistics Manager

Job Description

• The Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers, staff, or goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
• The role demands excellent driving skills, adherence to traffic regulations, basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned vehicles for the transportation of staff, clients, or goods.
• Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies.
• Perform daily vehicle checks (fuel, oil, water, tyres, lights, brakes).
• Maintain the cleanliness and serviceability of the vehicle.
• Record mileage, fuel usage, and trip details as required.
• Report accidents, damages, or mechanical issues promptly.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of items or luggage.
• Plan routes and adjust to traffic conditions for timely arrival.
• Provide courteous service to passengers and represent the company professionally.

Requirements

• Minimum of Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
• Additional vocational training in driving or vehicle maintenance is an advantage.
• 2 – 5 years proven driving experience** (corporate, commercial, or private).
• Experience with long-distance travel is an advantage.
• Clean driving record with no history of major traffic offences.

Required Skills:

• Excellent driving skills with knowledge of local and interstate routes.
• Strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and in traffic.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
• Punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.

Other Requirements

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the type of vehicle.
• Must be physically fit and able to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings if required.
• Must present professional references and pass background checks.
• Knowledge of GPS navigation systems is an advantage.
