Job Title: Head Chef

Job Summary
- The Head Chef is a highly skilled culinary professional responsible for leading all aspects of the kitchen’s operations.
- This role involves managing kitchen staff, creating and refining menus, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation, and controlling kitchen costs.
- The ideal candidate will be a creative leader with a passion for food, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership and Menu Management:
- Oversee and direct all daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and cleanup.
- Develop, plan, and create innovative and seasonal menus that appeal to customers and meet cost targets.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented to the highest quality standards, maintaining consistency and portion control.
- Stay current with culinary trends and new cooking techniques to continuously improve the menu.
Staff Management and Training:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Delegate tasks effectively and supervise the work of subordinates to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment, providing constructive feedback and resolving conflicts.
Inventory and Cost Control:
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies and ingredients to prevent shortages and minimize waste.
- Maintain vendor relationships and negotiate prices to ensure high-quality ingredients at optimal costs.
- Track expenses, monitor food and labor costs, and manage the kitchen’s operating budget to maintain profitability.
Health, Safety, and Sanitation:
- Ensure strict compliance with all local and national health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and proper equipment maintenance.
- Implement and enforce food safety procedures and protocols for the entire kitchen team.
Administrative Duties:
- Perform administrative tasks such as payroll, attendance records, and staff scheduling.
- Collaborate with restaurant management on strategic planning, budgeting, and overall business goals.
- Handle customer feedback and rectify any food-related issues or complaints promptly.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Interested candidates should possess a Culinary Degree or equivalent professional training and certification with 3-5 years of experience.
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or a similar leadership role in a high-volume kitchen.
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, various cuisines, and food presentation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
