We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Account Officer 

Locations: Ajah, Surulere & Amuwo Odofin – Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant with a pure accounting background to join our finance team.
  • The ideal candidate will manage and maintain the company’s accounting records, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, produce accurate financial statements, and support budgeting, forecasts, and internal control processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the general ledger, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS / Nigeria GAAP
  • Reconcile accounts payable & receivable, bank statements, intercompany accounts
  • Process payroll, statutory remittances, e.g. PAYE, WHT, VAT, pension, NHF
  • Assist in budget preparation, variance analysis, and forecasting
  • Perform cost accounting and inventory reconciliation (if applicable)
  • Support external and internal audits, prepare audit schedules
  • Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets
  • Prepare management reports, financial summaries, and analyses for decision-making

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Pure accounting background — previous roles must have been strictly accounting / finance (not primarily HR, operations, or sales roles)
  • Professional certification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, CPA) is strongly preferred or in progress
  • 2 – 5 years of accounting experience in a reputable organization
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, accounting standards (IFRS, Nigeria GAAP)
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must have completed NYSC.
