We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Abijo (Ajah/Badore), Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditures, and financial performance across departments.
  • Prepare and process payments, invoices, and payroll accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure the integrity of all financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts in collaboration with relevant departments.
  • Manage petty cash and monitor school fees and receivables.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Advise on cost reduction, financial risks, and resource optimization.
  • Maintain an organized filing system of financial records for audit and management review.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
  • 2–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
  • Previous experience in a school or tertiary institution is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws, payroll, and regulatory requirements.
