Job Title: Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Purpose

  • The Senior Accountant – Financial Reporting will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the financial reporting activities of Esosa Foods Systems & Innovation Ltd.
  • The role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of consolidated financial statements prepared under IFRS and Nigeria GAAP.
  • The position provides technical accounting guidance, strengthens internal controls, supports audit readiness, and contributes to continuous improvement in financial reporting processes across the group.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS and Nigeria GAAP.
  • Review and validate subsidiary financials for completeness and consistency before group consolidation.
  • Oversee monthly and yearly-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy of journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Review key balance sheet accounts (accruals, provisions, prepayments, intercompany balances, and fixed assets).
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and interpretation of complex IFRS and Nigeria GAAP issues.
  • Coordinate annual and interim external audits, ensuring timely completion and minimal audit adjustments.
  • Oversee the use and optimization of the company’s ERP or accounting systems for financial reporting.
  • Supervise and mentor junior (Staff) accountants within the financial reporting group.
  • Collaborate with finance sub-functions (Accounts Payable, Receivables, FP&A, Treasury, and Tax) to ensure seamless information flow.
