Sambus Geospatial is a Geographic Information System (GIS) and mapping company. We are the sole distributor of ESRI, ENVI, Trimble and WINGTRA Drones with exclusive representation in Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Gabon, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, and Liberia.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Geographic Information System (GIS) Training Officer / Analyst

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • We are seeking a passionate and experienced GIS Training Officer / Analyst to join our dynamic team in Victoria Island, Lagos.
  • The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, with a strong ability to train others and support geospatial analysis across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver comprehensive GIS and remote sensing training programs for internal staff and external clients.
  • Develop training materials, manuals, and hands-on exercises tailored to various skill levels.
  • Conduct spatial data analysis, mapping, and visualization using industry-standard tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI).
  • Support project teams with geospatial data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to trainees
  • Stay current with GIS and remote sensing trends, tools, and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geoinformatics, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience in GIS and remote sensing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Pythonfor geospatial analysis.
  • Familiarity with GPS data collection and mobile mapping tools.
  • Prior experience in curriculum development or adult education is a plus.
  • Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and remote sensing tools (e.g., ENVI).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills with a passion for teaching and capacity building.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must reside in Lagos and be available for on-site work in Victoria Island.

Salary
N250,000 – N280,000 Monthly.
