Job Description

St. Ives Specialist Hospital is a multi-specialist hospital located in Lagos. Since its establishment in 1996, the hospital has been providing dedicated specialist services in women’s, children’s, and family health. The hospital is managed by a group of consultants in various fields, including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, and Medicine & Surgery.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynaecological care, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal management
  • Perform and supervise surgical and non-surgical gynaecological procedures
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies and complex gynaecological cases
  • Conduct outpatient and inpatient consultations, ward rounds, and emergency reviews
  • Collaborate with other consultants, nurses, and allied professionals to ensure quality outcomes
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation in line with professional standards
  • Participate in research, training, and hospital development programs

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an MBBS or MBChB from a recognized institution
  • Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), National
  • Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOG), or an equivalent qualification
  • Current full registration and practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
  • Minimum of 2 years post-fellowship experience in obstetrics and gynaecology (preferred)
  • Proven expertise in managing obstetric emergencies and performing advanced gynaecological procedures
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.
