About the job
- The Accountant will support the Finance team by performing essential daily accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial transactions.
- This role offers a solid foundation for a career in accounting, providing hands-on experience in the core functions of financial record-keeping and reporting.
Key Responsibilities (JD)
- Accurately enter and process daily financial transactions into the general ledger, maintaining detailed records.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly bank and account reconciliation to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Support the processing of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), including verifying invoices and processing payments/receipts.
- Assist senior accountants with the preparation of financial schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal financial controls.
- Prepare necessary documentation and provide support during internal and external audits.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 0–1 year of experience (internships and academic projects count).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
- Solid understanding of GAAP, the accounting cycle, and basic financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement).
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
Salary
N160,000 – N180,000 / month.
