Job Title: Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer

Location: Nigeria

Role Overview

  • The Senior I&C Engineer supports the Lead I&C Engineer by executing specific I&C tasks for the conceptual  study.
  • They will develop preliminary instrument lists, datasheets for key instruments, and contribute to the  control system architecture and philosophy documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instrument Index / List: Develop the preliminary Instrument Index based on PFDs and equipment lists. • Datasheet Preparation: Prepare preliminary instrument datasheets for critical instruments, particularly  those related to the custody transfer metering system and pipeline monitoring.
  • Control Philosophy Support: Contribute to the development of the Control and Safeguarding Philosophies. • System Diagrams: Assist in developing preliminary control system architecture diagrams and interface  block diagrams.
  • Cause & Effects (Preliminary): Develop high-level or typical cause and effect charts for major shutdown  scenarios.
  • Interface Definition: Assist in defining I&C tie-in requirements at Plant-A and B based on available  information.
  • Review Participation: Participate in internal design reviews and safety studies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering.
  • Relevant experience (typically 5-10 years) in I&C design within the oil and gas industry.
  • Experience developing instrument lists, datasheets, and contributing to control system design.
  • Familiarity with field instrumentation, control system hardware/software concepts, and relevant codes.
  • Proven track record in Oil & Gas Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of international design codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering design and drafting software.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
