Job Title: Civil Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking to hire a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join her dynamic team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, facilities, and civil works in support of oil and gas operations.
  • This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, safety standards, and project management within the energy and industrial environment.
  • Preferred candidates will be resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State or willing to relocate as the role is at Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and supervise civil engineering projects, including foundations, pipelines, platforms, and structural works.
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections and ensure all civil works meet design, safety, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Perform structural integrity assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Support tendering processes by providing engineering inputs, cost estimates, and technical evaluations.
  • Manage subcontractors and monitor work progress against schedules and budgets.
  • Implement and uphold HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards in all project phases.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng / B.Sc) in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5–10years’ experience in civil/structural engineering within the oil and gas or energy industry.
  • Proven experience in site supervision, project management, and structural design.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (COREN, NSE) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Sound knowledge of local and international engineering codes and standards (API, ASME, BS, ISO, etc.).
  • Certification in HSE or Project Management (added advantage).

  • Leadership and teamwork abilities to manage teams and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail in design, measurement, and quality control.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic oil and gas environments.
  • Integrity and professionalism in handling confidential projects.
