Job Title: Cassava Processing Plant Factory Manager

Job Description

• The Factory Operations Manager will be responsible for leading, directing, and overseeing all cassava processing plant activities, ensuring profitability, efficiency, and alignment with the company’s vision.
• The role requires expertise in factory production processes, from design to implementation, and reports directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of cassava production processes, industry standards, and best practices.
• Prepare strategic and operational plans to ensure all tools, processes, and systems are in place to meet business goals.
• Oversee the execution of management strategies and operational plans.
• Ensure the development, implementation, and maintenance of operational policies covering procurement, distribution, and asset management.
• Collaborate with marketing, quality control, and merchandising teams to manage orders, monitor product costing, and assess factory capacity.
• Plan production, materials, and machinery requirements.
• Monitor daily production to ensure targets are consistently met.
• Conduct work studies and oversee industrial engineering functions within the factory.
• Ensure strict quality control so that only compliant products are released to buyers.
• Facilitate smooth information and workflow between departments and resolve interdepartmental issues.
• Perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent capacity.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively across departments and management levels.
• Previous experience in the food processing industry is required.
• Experience in cassava bio-ethanol production is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years of expertise in operations and maintenance of cassava processing plants, including installation, commissioning, project planning, and management.
• Proven ability to handle raw materials for cassava starch production and ensure compliance with standard specifications.
• Strong knowledge of industrial standards, quality assurance, and safety norms.
• Demonstrated ability in managing process machinery/equipment for cassava starch production.
• Commercial awareness combined with technical knowledge.
• Must be willing to relocate to Obrikom Town, Rivers State.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

• Office, Factory, and Field-based activities as necessary.
