We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: CNG Compressor Mechanic

Location: Ibese, Ogun

Description

  • The CNG Compressor Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of the compressor and its core components to support uninterrupted gas compression operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, monitor, and maintain CNG compressor units to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance such as cleaning, lubrication, tightening, filter replacement, and component adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical issues affecting compressor function.
  • Diagnose equipment faults and carry out corrective repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Repair or replace defective compressor parts, including valves, seals, bearings, belts, gaskets, and sensors.
  • Conduct performance checks and testing to ensure compressors operate within set pressure, temperature, and flow parameters.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and parts usage documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and procedures while working on high-pressure systems.
  • Coordinate with other maintenance team members when compressor-related support is required.
  • Stay informed on new compressor technologies, maintenance methods, and manufacturer updates.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of Technical Diploma, Trade Test, or C OND in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience working specifically with CNG compressors or industrial gas compressors.
  • Strong understanding of high-pressure compressor systems and safety requirements.
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals, mechanical drawings, and basic wiring diagrams.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with compressor performance indicators (pressure, temperature, lubrication, vibration)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • Safety-conscious mindset.
