Job Summary

  • The Field Collection Officer will support OPay Microfinance Bank’s lending arm by recovering overdue loan repayments through structured field activities while maintaining professional and respectful relationships with customers.
  • The role requires strong negotiation skills, integrity, and strict compliance with internal policies and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field visits to customers with overdue loan repayments to facilitate recovery.
  • Follow up on delinquent loan accounts through physical visits, calls, and reminders.
  • Educate customers on loan terms, repayment obligations, and consequences of default.
  • Negotiate and agree on repayment plans in line with approved lending and collection policies.
  • Accurately record all collection activities, customer engagements, and payment commitments using approved systems.
  • Prepare and submit daily and weekly recovery reports to the Collections Supervisor.
  • Identify and escalate high-risk, fraud-related, or non-cooperative cases as required.
  • Ensure all recovery actions comply with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and OPay MFB policies.
  • Represent the OPay MFB lending arm professionally and safeguard the institution’s brand at all times.
  • Work closely with internal lending, risk, and customer support teams to resolve issues impacting repayments.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess an OND / HND / BSc in any discipline.
  • Experience in loan recovery, field collections, or credit operations is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet assigned recovery targets.
