Job Description

St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is a 64-bed hospital located in Ogungbade off New Ife road in Ibadan. St. Dominic Catholic Hospital is the vision of the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena (Italy). We offer various medical services such as: General medicine, internal medicine, O & G, Laboratory, and Radiology, to mention just a few. The hospital is run in collaboration with foreign partners. We are registered and licensed by the Corporate Affairs Commission and the Ministry of Health. Also, we are accredited by the NHIS as both primary and secondary health care providers.

Job Title: HMO Officer

Location: Ibadan, Oyo

Job Summary

  • The Medical Health Insurance Officer is responsible for managing and coordinating health insurance-related activities within the hospital. This role involves verifying patient insurance coverage, obtaining authorizations, and ensuring compliance with insurance policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits.
  • Authorization Management: Obtain and manage insurance authorizations for treatments and procedures.
  • Claims Management: Assist with claims submission, follow-up, and resolution.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibilities.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with insurance policies, regulations, and hospital procedures.
  • Communication: Collaborate with insurance companies, patients, and hospital staff to resolve issues and improve processes.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, business).
  • Experience: Previous experience in health insurance, patient access, or a related field.
  • Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with health insurance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Hospital setting.
  • Shift Work: Typically regular business hours, with possible flexibility for peak periods.

Salary
N50,000 – N80,000 per month.
