The Federal College of Education, Yola was established in 1974, and occupies a land area of 155 hectares along the Jimeta-Yola Road, Adamawa State. The Vision of the College is to be a leading College in Africa in the training of efficient and creative teachers, and the promotion of professionalism, research and community services.

Job Title: College Librarian
Location: Yola, Adamawa
Tenure: The appointment is for a period of five (5) years
Duties
- The College Librarian is a Principal Officer responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day administration and control of Library matters in the College.
- The Librarian shall be in charge of the management and administration of the College Library services, staff, facilities and equipment in the Library.
- He/She shall be responsible for preparation of the Library Budgets.
- Forming overall Library policy, contacts and working with Departments on requirements for books forwards and other relevant publications.
- Giving Professional advice on Library matters.
- Performs any other functions which the Council or Provost may so direct.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Candidates must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree and Masters in Library Science (MLS) from a recognised Institution of higher learning with at least 15 years cognate experience and registration with Professional Library body. Or a Ph.D in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years cognate work experience with evidence of registration with professional Library body.
- He/she must possess proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
- Candidates should present evidence of sound human relations, profession competence, industrial integrity, efficient management of human and material resources.
- Candidates must be Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in a College of Education system.
- Candidates must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarship publications in reputable Journals equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer.
- Must not be above the age of 59 at the time of taking up the appointment.
