Job Title: Account Officer

Job Summary
- The Accountant Officer will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, and ensure timely submission to the finance manager.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations, including tax laws, audit requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the company’s budget, and provide regular reports on budget variances and financial performance.
- Manage the company’s cash flow, including cash receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations.
- Manage vendor relationships, including verifying invoices and processing payments in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and record-keeping activities.
Key Performance Indicators
- Accuracy and Timeliness of Financial Records: Ensure financial records are accurate and up- to-date, and reports are submitted to the finance manager in a timely manner.
- Compliance with Accounting Policies and Regulations: Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations, including tax laws, audit requirements, and international financial reporting standards (IFRS).
- Budget Management: Assist in the development and monitoring of the company’s budget, and provide regular reports on budget variances and financial performance.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensure adequate management of the company’s cash flow, including cash receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships, including verifying invoices and processing payments in accordance with established procedures.
- Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and implementing audit recommendations.
- Process Improvement: Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial reporting and record-keeping activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Accounting (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- At least 3 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage).
- Knowledge of international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and tax laws in Nigeria.
- Proximity to VGC, Lagos State.
Salary
N180,000 – N220,000 monthly.
