We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Accountant
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time, Office-based
Job Summary
- The Accountant is responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all accounting processes.
- This role involves preparing financial records, analyzing financial data, maintaining accounts, and supporting management with timely financial reporting and insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, reconcile bank statements, and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in preparing tax returns and statutory filings.
- Monitor financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are within budget guidelines.
- Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and explanations.
- Implement and maintain effective accounting systems, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., ACA, ICAN, CPA) is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in accounting or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Tally, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
