Job Description

J3 is an FMCG distributor. We have been in existence for over 8 years and we have branches in the followinf locations: Lagos, Ibadan, Ogun, Ondo, and Osun State.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Ibadan, Oyo
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Manage all financial transactions and records of J3 Foods and Store International
  • Implement structured accounting processes and strong internal financial controls.
  • Develop, document, and enforce internal financial policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Standardize financial operations to align with best practices for J3 Foods and Store International
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all financial transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements, monitor transactions, and attend to bank-related issues.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide ongoing guidance to Account Officers.
  • Train and upskill the accounting team to meet company standards.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for Account Officers.
  • Work closely with the sales and warehouse teams to track stock movements and reconcile daily sales.
  • Regularly audit inventory (warehouse), procurement, and sales records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Develop and monitor operating budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Oversee cash flow management to maintain adequate liquidity.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement profit improvement strategies.
  • Develop a structured system for payment confirmation to ensure incoming payments are verified promptly.
  • Implement automated payment tracking systems for transparency.
  • Monitor credit sales, accounts receivables, and aggressively follow up on overdue payments.
  • Oversee payroll processing to ensure accurate deductions and timely remittances.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT, corporate taxes, and other statutory obligations.
  • Provide financial insights to support the MD and management team’s decision-making.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Advise on investment opportunities and profitability enhancements.
  • And any other tasks or responsibilities assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the accounting department.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc / M.Sc Degree with 3-8 years work experience.

Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 per month.
