Job Title: Accountant

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Description

  • The accountant will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving strategic financial planning within the fintech ecosystem.
  • This role demands expertise in financial reporting, digital transactions, and risk management, while working closely with leadership to support financial growth and long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and forecasting for the fintech business.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including fintech-specific policies (e.g., CBN, SEC, IFRS, and tax laws).
  • Manage revenue streams from digital transactions, payments, and financial services.
  • Develop financial strategies to optimize cash flow, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Collaborate with technology and product teams to integrate accounting best practices into financial systems.
  • Oversee audits, reconciliations, and financial risk assessments.
  • Develop and manage relationships with investors, banks, and financial institutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CFA, ICAN) is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in fintech, banking, or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of digital payment systems, blockchain, or financial technology operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial modeling, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in fintech accounting software, ERP systems, and digital banking platforms.
