Job Title: Accountant
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Job Summary
- The Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in all accounting processes.
- The role involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling bank statements, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
- The ideal candidate will ensure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports that provide management with actionable insights for sound decision-making.
- In addition to day-to-day accounting duties, the Accountant will oversee accounts payable and receivable, tax computations, and statutory filings in line with regulatory requirements.
- The role also requires close collaboration with auditors, vendors, and departmental heads to ensure transparency and proper financial controls across the organization.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- ICAN certification (or equivalent such as ACCA) is a strong advantage.
- A Master’s Degree in a relevant field will be an added benefit.
- Proven 5-6 years of progressive accounting or finance experience in a structured organization.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or Tally ERP is a must.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP) and accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial analysis.
- Proven experience in budget preparation, cash flow management, and tax compliance.
- Strong understanding of auditing procedures and internal control systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial management tools.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling sensitive financial data.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
