Job Title: Chef – Chinese Cuisine Specialist

Job Description

  • An experienced and innovative Chef with a strong background in Chinese culinary traditions, specializing in authentic and contemporary Chinese cuisine.
  • Skilled in preparing, cooking, and presenting diverse Chinese dishes with expertise in stir-frying, steaming, braising, roasting, and noodle-making.
  • Adept at menu creation, kitchen management, and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook authentic Chinese dishes, including regional specialties (Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Northern, etc.).
  • Develop creative menus that balance traditional flavors with modern presentation.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and plating across all dishes.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff in Chinese cooking techniques and safety standards.
  • Source and manage inventory of Chinese ingredients, spices, and condiments.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Collaborate with management to design seasonal and special menus for events.
  • Monitor food costs and minimize waste while ensuring quality.
  • Provide excellent customer satisfaction through authentic culinary experiences.

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess an NCE qualification with 3 – 5 years work experience.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Deep knowledge of Chinese culinary traditions, flavors, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in wok handling, dim sum preparation, dumpling making, and noodle crafting.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Creativity in fusion cuisine while preserving authenticity.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene.

Salary
N100,000 – N200,000 monthly.
