Job Title: Counsellor and Academic Support Specialist

Location: Enugu

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and highly skilled School Counsellor and Academic support specialist to join our team.
  • The ideal candidate will provide emotional, social, and academic guidance to students, helping them navigate challenges, develop positive coping skills, and reach their full potential.
  • The counsellor will also work closely with parents, teachers, and school leadership to promote student well-being and maintain a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions for students.
  • Identify and support students facing emotional, behavioural, social, or academic difficulties.
  • Develop and implement guidance programs that promote positive mental health and well-being.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administration on student welfare issues.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions.
  • Organise and facilitate workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, career guidance, study skills, and resilience.
  • Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
  • Relevant certification or licensure as a counsellor is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
