We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Diesel Mechanic
Location: Apapa, Lagos
Purpose
- To maintain all Flour Mills Nigeria caterpillars under the guidance of the Heavy Equipment Supervisor in accordance with the standards.
The Job
- Carry out proper and supervised maintenance on all Cranes to ensure that they are performing optimally.
- Ensure that the workshop is kept clean in line with the company’s Health, Safety and Environment policy for effective output.
- Report on all Crane repairs and maintenance activities to the Heavy Equipment Supervisor for reference purposes.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, and related components.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and brake inspections.
- Inspect and test vehicles using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Identify mechanical problems and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- 5 O’ level Credits including English & Mathematics in not more than two sittings/Technical qualifications.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ cognate experience.
The Person Must Have:
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and mechanical components used in industrial and automotive equipment.
- Proven ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered machines, including engines, pumps, and generators.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, service diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
- Strong adherence to safety procedures and good workshop practices in all repair and maintenance activities.
