We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Electrical Shift In-Charge

Location: Gujeni, Kaduna
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Electrical Shift Incharge to oversee electrical operations during assigned shifts at our mining site in Kaduna.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and maintenance, with the ability to supervise teams and ensure smooth functioning of equipment and power supply systems critical to mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of electricians and technicians during the shift.
  • Ensure uninterrupted power supply and efficient operation of all electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely troubleshooting of electrical issues.
  • Monitor and maintain electrical panels, transformers, MCCs, PLCs, and VFDs.
  • Maintain shift logs and handover reports for ongoing issues and completed tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company policies.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and production teams for coordinated plant operations.
  • Lead emergency response efforts for electrical faults and breakdowns.
  • Report all incidents and suggest improvements to reduce downtime and hazards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 – 6 years of hands-on experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical drawings, using diagnostic tools, and working with PLC/SCADA systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of energy management practices in mining operations.
  • Certification in electrical safety or maintenance (e.g., HSE, OSHA) is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
