Elper Oilfield Engineering Nigeria Limited, Our company specialises in Engineering Consultancy, Technical Support services, Manpower supply services, Inspection and quality management (QA/QC), NDT services, production facilities operation and maintenance services, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, installation and construction services and supply of specialized oilfield equipment.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Electrical Technician
Location: Rivers
Requirements
- A relevant professional certification in electrical technology or a related field is required
- A minimum of 7years of experience as an Electrical Technician, with at least 4years specifically in an offshore oil and gas environment, with a proven track record of working on the Bonga FPSO.
- Proven experience with electrical systems for maintenance, construction, and turnaround projects.
- The candidate must hold valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, OSP, and a valid medical certificate.
- This position requires working in a challenging offshore industrial environment on platforms or vessels.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and technical manuals.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical maintenance and repair procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a demanding offshore environment.
- Perform routine and corrective maintenance on a wide range of electrical equipment, including motors, generators, lighting systems, and power distribution panels.
- Troubleshoot electrical failures and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, single-line diagrams, and schematics to guide maintenance and repair work.
- Install new electrical equipment and systems in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct visual and functional checks on all equipment to ensure proper operation and integrity.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs, work reports, and equipment history records.
- Work in coordination with other discipline technicians (e.g., mechanical, instrumentation) to ensure integrated and safe work practices.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including working with permits to work and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in pre-job risk assessments and toolbox talks to ensure all safety measures are understood and followed.
- Assist in the pre-commissioning and commissioning of electrical systems as required.
