Job Title: Hatchery Manager

Location: Asaba, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

• The Hatchery Manager will oversee daily hatchery operations, manage automated incubators, enforce strict biosecurity standards, and ensure optimal hatchability and chick quality.
• This is a senior technical and leadership role that requires strong expertise in incubation technology and people management.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily hatchery operations from egg setting to chick dispatch.
• Operate, monitor, and maintain automated incubators and hatchers.
• Ensure optimal incubation parameters for maximum hatchability.
• Maintain high biosecurity, hygiene, and compliance standards.
• Lead, train, and supervise hatchery staff.
• Ensure production of healthy, uniform day-old chicks for internal and external customers.
• Collaborate with breeder farms and feed mill to align production schedules.
• Prepare and present operational reports to management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, Veterinary Medicine, or related field.
• 7 – 10 years experience in commercial poultry hatchery management.
• Proven track record with automated incubation systems (e.g., Petersime, Jamesway, ChickMaster).
• Strong knowledge of hatchery hygiene, chick quality, and biosecurity management.
• Leadership experience in managing large hatchery teams.
