Sitrid is an acronym for Steps In The Right Direction. It is a 21st century based Nursery, Primary school and Secondary School which opened a little over 10 years ago. It caters for children between the ages of 3 months – 16 years (Daycare to SS3 ). It is a highly technology based school with dedicated teachers and staff. SIS is located on the South- West of Port Harcourt (50-56 Rumuevorlu Mini Orlu Road off Ada George Way, Port Harcourt) on a beautiful 8 plots of land. It provides an atmosphere conducive for focused learning. It has a spacious athletic field and secured car park that makes the school a gorgeous and efficient educational learning environment.

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a dedicated, innovative, and God-fearing Grade School Head Teacher to lead our grade school team.
  • The ideal candidate will be a passionate educator and transformational leader with a strong background in curriculum design, digital and technology literacy, a deep understanding of both the Nigerian and Cambridge curricular, and a commitment to child safety and Christian values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic and operational leadership for the grade school in line with the school’s mission and Christian ethos.
  • Oversee and guide curriculum implementation and development, particularly in English ,Mathematics and Science, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and educational standards.
  • Supervise staff performance through structured appraisal procedures, mentoring, and ongoing professional development.
  • Promote a school culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Integrate technology meaningfully in classroom instruction and school administration.
  • Uphold and enforce all child protection policies; ensure full compliance with child safety and safeguarding regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships among staff, students, and parents.
  • Encourage and model Christian values in leadership, decision-making, and daily interactions.
  • Ensure a calm, disciplined, and nurturing learning environment that supports each child’s development.
  • Monitor academic performance and promote effective teaching practices across grade levels.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
  • At least 5 years of teaching experience, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role at the primary/grade school level.
  • Strong knowledge of the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula, with a specific focus on learning objectives in English, Science and Mathematics.
  • Sound knowledge of curriculum planning, lesson development, and assessment practices.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teacher performance using effective appraisal tools.
  • Demonstrated awareness of child protection and safeguarding laws—candidates must have a clean record and be fully committed to upholding child safety.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to enhance teaching, learning, and school operations.
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of integrity, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Flexible, innovative, and open to continuous improvement and change.
  • A practicing Christian who exemplifies godliness in leadership and lifestyle.

Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 / month.
