We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Health, Safety and Environmental Officer 

Location: Kaduna
Job type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Conduct regular workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identifications across field and office locations.
  • Implement and monitor compliance with Nigerian HSE regulations.
  • Deliver engaging HSE training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, and farmer members.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate HSE records and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
  • Act as a point of contact for safety-related queries, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Support emergency response planning and drills.
  • Support Last Mile Logistics and Internal Auditing.
  • Promote environmental responsibility in line with Babban Gona’s sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE roles, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or field operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian HSE laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Recognized HSE Certification.
  • Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
  • Ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and write clear, actionable reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic understanding of HSE reporting tools.
  • Fluent in English; Hausa language skills are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations as needed.
