Elper Oilfield Engineering Nigeria Limited specialises in Engineering Consultancy, Technical Support services, Manpower supply services, Inspection and quality management (QA/QC), NDT services, production facilities operation and maintenance services, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, installation and construction services and supply of specialized oilfield equipment.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: HSSE Advisor
Location: Rivers
Responsibilities
- Advise and assist management and personnel on all HSSE-related issues and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSSE policies and procedures in line with company and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the offshore facility to identify and correct potential hazards and non-compliance issues.
- Lead and participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Deliver and facilitate HSSE training programs, including inductions, toolbox talks, and specialized safety training.
- Manage and maintain all HSSE documentation, including risk assessments, safety records, and incident reports.
- Serve as the point of contact for external regulatory bodies during inspections and audits.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and coaching of all personnel.
- Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management procedures.
- Advise on emergency response planning and participate in emergency drills to ensure preparedness.
- Track HSSE performance metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to management.
- Ensure that all subcontractors and third-party personnel adhere to the project’s HSSE requirements.
Requirements
- Education/Professional Certification: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are mandatory.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a dedicated HSSE role, with at least 5 years of specific experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience with safety management systems and incident investigation techniques.
- Must hold valid offshore certifications such as BOSIET, HUET, and a valid medical certificate.
- Thorough knowledge of international and local HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to offshore operations.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to influence and engage personnel at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.
- Proficiency in preparing clear and concise reports and documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a challenging offshore environment.
