Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO) & Product Owner
Job Summary
- The In-House Tech Engineer will be responsible for supporting and managing the technical aspects of the OVU app, ensuring system integrations, stability, and continuous improvement.
- This role requires strong hands-on engineering expertise to maintain backend systems, oversee integrations with partners, and deliver reliable, scalable features that enhance the user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, optimize, and enhance the OVU platform including APIs, backend systems, and core infrastructure.
- Oversee and manage the integration of airline and bus operator APIs into the central OVU system.
- Monitor system uptime, latency, and overall app performance, ensuring seamless user experience.
- Collaborate with the product team on new feature rollouts, enhancements, and testing.
- Provide technical support for critical bugs, issues, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- System uptime of ≥ 99%.
- On-time delivery of partner API integrations.
- Bug resolution rates within agreed service-level timelines.
- Feature delivery against roadmap targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
- 4 – 7+ years experience in software engineering with strong proficiency in Node.js, Python, Java, or PHP.
- Proven expertise in working with APIs, fintech/payments, or transport system integrations.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and startup environments.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and technical support skills.
Salary
N500,000 – N599,999 / month.
