Cover Alarm Systems is a fast-growing security technology company offering 24/7 remote video monitoring, alarm systems, and smart security solutions across Nigeria. We are expanding our operations and seeking a highly skilled technician to oversee camera installations, VMS setup, and ensure smooth operation of our monitoring stations.

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and dedicated IP CCTV & Automation Technician / IT & Networking Support Officer to join Cover Alarm Systems Ltd.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IP CCTV systems, alarm panels, access control, and home/office automation solutions, as well as providing IT and networking support to the company and its clients.
  • This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a customer-focused attitude to ensure reliable security and automation solutions.

Responsibilities
CCTV, Security & Automation Systems:

  • Install, configure, and maintain IP CCTV cameras, DVRs/NVRs, alarm systems, and automation devices.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on CCTV, alarms, access control, and automation equipment.
  • Ensure optimal system performance and provide preventive maintenance.
  • Carry out site surveys, prepare installation plans, and ensure proper cabling, wiring, and network setup.
  • Installation of GPS Trackers and fuel level monitoring devices.

IT & Networking Support:

  • Configure and manage LAN/WAN networks, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Provide IT support for office systems, including hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Ensure secure and reliable network connections for all deployed systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve IT/network-related issues promptly.

Customer Support & Project Execution:

  • Provide on-site and remote technical support to clients.
  • Coordinate with the sales and project teams to ensure timely and quality project delivery.
  • Document all installations, repairs, and support activities.
  • Train end-users on system usage and basic troubleshooting.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Submit weekly reports on all installations, service calls, and IT/network activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety policies, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company data at all times.

Requirements

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IP CCTV installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with alarm systems, access control, and automation devices.
  • Strong networking knowledge (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routers, switches, Wi-Fi).
  • Familiarity with tools such as crimpers, testers, and cable management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel for project execution when required.

Requirements 

  • Minimum of OND/HND/BSc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, ICT, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience with CCTV installation, network configuration, and IP camera systems
  • Strong knowledge of VMS platforms (especially HikCentral) and NVR/DVR setups
  • Ability to troubleshoot networking issues (IP addressing, port forwarding, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical manuals
  • Physically fit and able to work in field conditions
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Must reside in Abuja and be willing to travel nationwide for assignments
  • Certifications in security systems or networking (CCNA, Hikvision Certified, etc.) are a plus
  • Hands-on experience with cutting-edge surveillance technologies
