A leading International Boarding School in Lagos is recruiting suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

Job Title: IT Manager

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Oversee the formulation, facilitation, and implementation of IT strategies, policies, and frameworks to support the school and contribute to the realization of overall corporate objectives and goals.
  • Support in the management/ maintenance of the school’s IT infrastructure (Servers, operating systems, database, LAN, etc)
  • Provide hands-on-technical support to all end-users and support the Academic Affairs function with the delivery of basis computer studies.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan, organized, direct, control and evaluated the operations of information systems and electronic data processing.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations and development.
  • Monitor ERP systems modifications (Technical and Functional) to enhance business productivity.
  • Able to establish and maintain robust system to maintain network uptime of mail administration.
  • Ability to upgrade the IT systems.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to IT staff and end-users.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies.
  • Determine what new technology solutions and implementations will meet business and system requirements.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems. Perform minor technical repairs.
  • Make recommendations about purchase of technology resources, including installation, configuration and routine maintenance of IT hardware.
  • Support school in the development of the school’s IT strategy and ensure alignment with the school’s strategic goals and objectives.
  • Translate the school’s IT strategy into specific operational plans and coordinate the execution of defined plans and work programs.
  • Provide input into the selection of end user hardware and software based on knowledge of technical issues associated with the proposed solutions.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of systems to ensure continuous protection of the school’s IT infrastructure from damages.
  • Ensure proper licensing of all applications and software utilized by the school.
  • Establish and maintain an effective e-mail system and intranet for the school.
  • Ensure effective management of the school’s IT assets and ensure the provision of adequate IT infrastructure to end-users.
  • Provide first-level technical assistance to staff in line with pre-defined policies and procedures and manage the school’s IT helpdesk.
  • Assess needs and recommend suitable technology.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Competencies
Education and Work Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other related fields of study. Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in ICT, Data Processing and Computer Science.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in a related field.

Competencies and Skills:

  • An understanding of TCP/IP networking and current knowledge of available and emerging technologies.
  • Fairly good working of some programming languages like Oracle, Greenfoot, Scratch, PHP, Java, Python, SQL etc.
  • An understanding of appropriate uses of technology in the educational setting.
  • Competency with windows computers and software, in particular Microsoft 365.
  • Technology skills in up-to-date computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, web page development, presentation, digital video and audio editing, image processing, and graphics applications. A sound working knowledge of Microsoft 365 is very critical.
  • Ability to listen to others and remain receptive to new ideas and display excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate sustained effort and enthusiasm in the quality and quantity of work.
  • Effectively educate/ mentor technology users, to establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with staff and the community.
  • Effective time management, organisational skills, and prioritization of work to meet the needs of the users.
  • Ability to quickly acquire new knowledge regarding technology and demonstrate initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrate high integrity and ethical standards.
