Job Title: Litigation Officer

About the Role
- We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Litigation Officer to join our dynamic Legal Team.
- The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling litigation matters, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.
- You will be responsible for managing the company’s litigation portfolio, liaising with external counsel, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and mitigating legal risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all company litigation matters from initiation to resolution.
- Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and stakeholders on ongoing cases.
- Conduct legal research, prepare case briefs, and review court processes.
- Provide strategic legal advice to management on litigation risks and outcomes.
- Draft, review, and vet legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, and settlement agreements.
- Maintain accurate litigation records and prepare periodic reports on case status.
- Support in regulatory compliance and interface with government agencies when required.
- Ensure that the company’s litigation strategies align with business objectives while minimizing legal exposure.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution.
- Call to the Nigerian Bar (BL) is mandatory.
- 3 – 5 years post-call experience in litigation and dispute resolution (fintech or financial services industry experience is a plus).
- Strong understanding of fintech regulations, CBN guidelines, and relevant financial laws.
- Excellent legal drafting, advocacy, and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail, strong negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases under tight deadlines.
