An indigenous Oil & Gas company is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Logistics Manager

Location: Onitsha, Anambra State, South East
Department: Supply Chain / Administration
Reports To: Group Head, South East

Role Summary

  • The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all inbound and outbound logistics activities, vehicular and personnel movements, while ensuring compliance with all local and international logistics HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with corporate objectives, including multi-modal transport for specialized oil and gas business.
  • Manage third-party logistics contracts and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
  • Oversee warehouse, yard, and inventory operations for critical spares and project materials.
  • Liaise with mechanics and vendors for effective and efficient spares and vehicle repairs.
  • Coordinate personnel logistics and streamline material flow to avoid supply chain delays.
  • Enforce HSE standards and best maintenance practices across all logistics activities, including goods handling.
  • Prepare and execute contingency plans for logistics disruptions and emergency scenarios.
  • Manage logistics budgets, approve invoices, and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Ensure drivers are trained periodically and always abreast of road use developments.
  • Monitor and report key performance indicators to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics, with at least 3 years in management role, preferably within the Oil & Gas or heavy industrial sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of global freight, customs, road transport regulatory procedures, and multi-modal transportation.
  • Strong understanding of HSE and regulatory requirements for hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and oilfield logistics.
