Job Description:
The Media and Public Relations Specialist will develop and implement comprehensive media strategies to enhance the public image of the Ogun State Government. You will manage press releases, media briefings, and public information campaigns, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information. The role requires building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, media houses, and community stakeholders. You will monitor media coverage and public sentiment, prepare detailed reports, and advise government officials on communication strategies. Crisis communication management and event coordination are key responsibilities. This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, political awareness, and the ability to work within a complex governmental environment.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Political Science, or related field.

At least 5 years’ experience in media relations or public affairs, preferably in government.

Strong knowledge of media landscapes and political communication.

Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.

Ability to manage sensitive information and handle crises effectively.

Proficient in media monitoring and analytics tools.

Strong networking and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
