Job Description

St.Ives Specialist Hospital is a multi-specialist hospital which opened in 1996. The hospital offers dedicated specialist services in all matters of women, children and family health, managed by a group of consultants in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Medicine & Surgery.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Neonatologist

Location: Ikeja (Opebi), Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • We are seeking a qualified and experienced Neonatologist to join our medical team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized care to newborn babies, particularly premature and critically ill infants, and supporting their families through high-quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing specialized medical care to newborns, especially premature and critically ill infants
  • Managing patients admitted into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Attending high-risk deliveries and performing immediate newborn resuscitation
  • Diagnosing and treating neonatal conditions such as respiratory distress, infections, congenital abnormalities, and metabolic disorders
  • Performing neonatal procedures including intubation, ventilation management, and line insertions
  • Monitoring growth, development, and overall wellbeing of newborns
  • Working closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Communicating clearly with parents and caregivers regarding treatment plans and prognosis
  • Maintaining accurate and timely medical records in line with hospital policies
  • Participating in on-call duties, clinical audits, and continuous medical education
  • Supporting the training and supervision of junior medical staff where applicable.

Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Postgraduate training in Pediatrics with specialization in Neonatology
  • Valid medical license and registration
  • Proven experience working in a NICU setting
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure.

Salary
N1,500,000 monthly.
