Job Description

Samsung Heavy Industries Nigeria (SHIN) is a key player in Nigeria’s oil and gas and maritime industries, serving as the prime African subsidiary of the global shipbuilding giant, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) of Korea. Established in August 2011, SHIN has a fabrication and integration yard in Lagos.This facility is notable as Africa’s first-ever and only Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) integration yard.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Network Support Officer (CCNA – Cisco Certified)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Designing and installing a well-functioning computer network, cables and peripheral devices.
  • Perform trouble shooting of network and computer system software and hardware failures and ensure network efficiency.
  • Testing and configuring of network hardware, software and peripheral devices.
  • Install LAN infrastructures and maintain them, fixing minor issues arising.
  • Ability to perform upgrades and maintenance without interrupting employees from their official work.
  • Backup of network configurations and other information.
  • Guide employees and users of the network on usage and resolution of minor faults
  • Investigate complex problems, diagnose underlying cause and proffer solutions and recovery if need be.
  • Computer preparation, installation of OS and applications and minor repairs.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field with 2 – 3 years’ experience.
  • Good knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP protocol and network technologies.
  • Knowledge of computer ant network software, hardware and peripherals.
  • Ability to guide people on how to resolve minor issues with a step-by-step procedure.
  • Ability to analyze strongly and diagnose problems that are not obvious and find solutions.
  • Ability to communicate and explain complex technologies to members of staff to guide them in resolution of issues.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skill in handling people where matters are complex.
  • Good reporting skill using Microsoft office suite.
  • Must have CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate or other relevant network certification.
