We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Edo

Job Summary

  • A procurement officer sources and acquires goods and services for an organization, ensuring cost-efficiency and quality through strategic planning, supplier negotiation, and contract management.
  • Their responsibilities include evaluating suppliers, managing vendor relationships, overseeing purchasing activities, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier evaluation and management: Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers, negotiating contracts, and maintaining good supplier relationships.
  • Strategic planning: Developing plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies to align with the company’s long-term goals.
  • Cost and quality control: Ensuring that purchases are cost-efficient and of high quality.
  • Compliance and policy enforcement: Following and enforcing the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
  • Inventory and records management: Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Internal coordination: Working with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure smooth delivery of goods and services.

Skills and qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in business or a related field, is often required.
  • Business and analytical skills: A strong understanding of business operations, basic mathematics, and analytical thinking are essential.
  • Communication and negotiation: Excellent communication and negotiation skills are crucial for dealing with suppliers.
  • Attention to detail: A high level of attention to detail is necessary for managing contracts and records.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills are beneficial, especially for officers with supervisory duties.
