Job Title: Procurement Officer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Report to: Head of Supply Chain

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement activities in line with company policies and approved budgets.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and service-level agreements
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance
  • Support vendor negotiations and ensure compliance with agreed terms
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with logistics for timely replenishment
  • Ensure procurement compliance with trade, customs, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement needs with operational goals
  • Assist in implementing ERP systems and digital procurement tools
  • Promote ethical sourcing and sustainability in all procurement activities
  • Report procurement metrics and cost-saving initiatives to management

Requirements
What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or related field
  • Professional certification is an added advantage.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in procurement or supply chain operations in Oil & Gas is desirable.
  • Proven track record in vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement software.
  • Ability to manage multiple suppliers and contracts simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Understanding of trade, customs, and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to ensure procurement activities align with internal policies and external standards.
  • Collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
  • High integrity and professionalism in handling supplier relationships.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, diversified business environment.
