Job Title: Project Manager – Roads & Bridge (Expatriate)

Location: Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of large-scale civil infrastructure projects — particularly flyovers/bridges — while ensuring efficiency, cost control, safety, and quality compliance.
  • The role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, while providing strong leadership and direction to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
    • Lead, motivate, and develop project teams to achieve project goals.
    • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration, problem-solving, and accountability.
  • Project Planning & Execution:
    • Develop and monitor project plans, schedules, and budgets for flyover and related infrastructure projects.
    • Ensure timely execution of all project phases in line with contractual obligations.
    • Track project progress, costs, and performance metrics.
    • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Quality, Safety & Compliance:
    • Implement and maintain the project’s HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Plan.
    • Ensure compliance with all regulations, codes, and safety standards.
    • Conduct inspections and tests to verify adherence to specifications.
    • Enforce project quality management standards across all deliverables.
  • Financial & Commercial Performance:
    • Monitor financial performance, including actual vs. projected profit.
    • Support accurate project financial reporting.
    • Engage and assess subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Serve as the primary contact with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, including project communities.
    • Represent the company in all contract-related matters.
  • Design & Technical Oversight:
    • Oversee design and engineering implementation during project execution.
    • Ensure accurate interpretation of construction drawings and technical specifications.
    • Drive innovation and efficiency in flyover/bridge design and delivery.
  • Other:
    • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Regional Technical Manager

Requirements
Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience, with at least 3 years in a similar role within a multinational or large-scale organization.
  • Required: Proven hands-on experience in the planning, execution, and delivery of major civil infrastructure projects, specifically flyover/bridge construction
  • Technical & Professional Skills:
    • Strong project management and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in construction design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and MS Office Suite.
    • In-depth knowledge of project lifecycle, engineering design, quality management, and cost estimation.
    • Ability to interpret construction drawings and manage risk effectively.
    • Strong understanding of construction materials, electrical and mechanical systems.

    • Strong communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
