We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Retainer Lawyer
Location: Ogudu GRA, Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Job Summary
- The Retainer Lawyer will serve as BridgeHedge Limited’s primary legal advisor, responsible for handling all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters.
- This includes managing company registrations, ensuring adherence to Nigerian laws, drafting contracts, and representing the company in negotiations or disputes.
- The ideal candidate must have solid experience in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous legal advice and strategic guidance to management and project teams.
- Draft, review, and interpret contracts, MOUs, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
- Handle company and business registrations with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and oversee updates or filings.
- Manage regulatory registrations and renewals with agencies such as NAFDAC, SON, FCCPC, and other relevant bodies for the company and its clients.
- Ensure full compliance with corporate, tax, labor, and environmental laws.
- Represent BridgeHedge in negotiations, legal consultations, and regulatory interactions.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in business, corporate, and regulatory laws.
- Review internal company policies and operational frameworks to identify and mitigate risks.
- Support business expansion and partnerships with legal documentation and due diligence.
- Liaise with government agencies, external lawyers, and regulators on compliance-related matters.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B); Call to the Nigerian Bar (B.L) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years post-call experience, preferably in corporate, commercial, or regulatory law.
- Proven experience in CAC registration, NAFDAC licensing, and general compliance for businesses.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong communication, documentation, and negotiation skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professional judgment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience drafting service-level agreements and business registration documents.
- Familiarity with intellectual property and product licensing processes.
- Ability to provide strategic legal insight in business development and client projects.
Remuneration
Competitive retainer fee (quarterly), commensurate with experience and agreed scope of services.
