Job Title: Terminal Manager

Location: Iddo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

  • We are seeking a seasoned Terminal Manager to provide strategic, operational, and administrative leadership of the terminal.
  • The Terminal Manager will have full managerial authority over terminal operations, compliance, personnel, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring efficient cargo flow, regulatory adherence, and optimal terminal performance in the Apapa–Tin Can port corridor.

Key Managerial Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management and leadership of the bonded terminal
  • Plan, direct, and control all terminal activities and departments
  • Ensure strict compliance with Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), NPA, NDLEA, SON, NAFDAC, and other statutory agencies
  • Serve as the principal management representative to Customs commands and port authorities
  • Oversee cargo reception, examination, storage, release, and exit procedures
  • Implement operational policies, SOPs, and performance standards
  • Manage terminal workforce, shift planning, discipline, and performance reviews
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and audit preparedness
  • Drive efficiency improvements, cost control, and revenue protection
  • Enforce safety, security, and regulatory standards across the terminal
  • Handle escalations, disputes, and incident management at management level

Bonded Terminal Performance KPIs
The Terminal Manager will be accountable for:

  • Cargo dwell time optimisation
  • Truck turnaround time (TAT) reduction
  • Zero customs and regulatory infractions
  • Container throughput and yard utilisation efficiency
  • Examination-to-release cycle time
  • Revenue assurance and loss prevention
  • Operational downtime control
  • Staff productivity and shift performance
  • Incident, damage, and safety compliance rates
  • Audit outcomes and regulatory inspection results

Qualifications & Experience

  • Candidates should possess an HND/BSc in Maritime Studies, Transport Management, Logistics, or related discipline with 8–12 years experience in bonded terminal or port operations
  • Minimum 3–5 years in a Terminal Manager, Operations Manager, or equivalent senior role
  • Strong working knowledge of Apapa and Tin Can port systems and procedures
  • Proven leadership and people-management capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: N600,000 – N900,000 / Month.
