We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Turbine Field Operator

Location: SSC P-Numan, Adamawa

Job Summary

  • The Turbines Field Operator is responsible for conducting routine inspections, monitoring local equipment, and performing field operations to ensure the safe and reliable operation of steam turbines and associated auxiliaries.
  • This role plays a critical part in start-up, shutdown, and emergency handling, working in coordination with the DCS operator and Shift Engineer

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular field inspections of turbine, condenser, pumps, and lube oil systems.
  • Monitor vibration, temperature, pressure, and flow using local gauges.
  • Report abnormalities (leaks, noise, overheating) to the Shift Engineer.
  • Assist in turbine start-up and shutdown procedures.
  • Support DCS operator in synchronizing and load changes.
  • Check condition of auxiliary systems (seal oil, vacuum pumps, GSCs).
  • Participate in routine equipment checks and log observations.
  • Ensure field safety compliance and use of PPE.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of turbine floor area.
  • Provide help in emergency shutdown and plant isolation activities

Educational Qualification and Work Experience

  • Diploma or HND Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  •  Professional Certification is an added advantage. (Turbine Field Operator Certificate preferred).
  • 5–10 years of experience in turbine field operations in a cogeneration or thermal plant.
